How to decide if hair extensions are for you

These days women tend to be more inclined to experiment with their look. What was previously a long term project when it came to growing your hair, is now a much quicker (few hour) project. Whether it is a style choice to tide you over while you grow your natural hair longer, or a short-term change of appearance, hair extensions offer an easy, affordable and immediate solution.

There are a wide variety of extensions on the market from high quality Remy hair through to the cheaper synthetic hair types and all of them are available in an array of colours, lengths and textures. If you are torn between real and synthetic, there is no question that real hair extensions are by far superior. They can with stand colouring, drying and straightening, feel better and will last far longer giving you a more natural look.

How do you pick between Asian, European and Indian hair? Price tends to make part of that decision for some, but it is best to match up to your own hair texture, weight and style. Asian is the cheapest but it tends to be quite coarse and unless you are from Asian descent it can look less natural (depending on your own hair type). European is considered one of the more popular choices as it is available in a range of colours, is relatively straight and suits many hair types. Indian is the premium hair choice and the most expensive. It has a natural wave through it which is highly popular. Aim for the most natural look which will help your hair blend in flawlessly.

Length is another element to consider. Try to select a natural length because if you go too long it can cause unnecessary strain on your scalp giving you headaches and discomfort. It also tends to look more natural if it stays somewhere around the bra-strap line.

Gaining expert advice as to what will suit your hair the best is valuable – don’t be shy about asking lots of questions.
